Sunex is pleased to introduce the newest addition to the IR Cut family of filters for CMOS and CCD digital imaging applications.  The IRC40 is a unique filter, combining the cutoff response, sharpness and high visible-band transmission of our traditional IRC30, while simultaneously allowing a band-pass centered at 850nm (typical transmission spectrum). This filter is designed to give excellent daytime performance, while also allowing the user to illuminate with an IR LED array for night-time imaging.  This filter is especially useful for day/night security and surveillance applications as a “passive switching” device.  This filter is a good alternative to active switchers in an LED illumination scheme where space, complexity or cost may prohibit a mechanical exchanger.

Like the IRC30, the new IRC40 can be purchased in standard or custom sizes to fit your application’s requirements.  The IRC40 can also be integrated directly into a Sunex lens, saving even more space in your design and reducing complexity in your assembly process.
